A new concept of electronic games comes officially to Brazil

One of the largest companies of the international gaming industry comes to the country by opening its first retail location in Curitiba. It aims to legitimize the Latin American market by working directly with it’s suppliers and introducing franchise stores in over 20 countries.

Betting on an expanding market, Proximo Games arrives in Latin America with the opening of its first store in Curitiba this month. Founded by former executives at Game Quest, a North American distributor, it promises to bring new concept of electronic entertainment along with official products directly from manufacturers to Brazilian consumers.

Proximo Games pilot store will offer the latest titles, consoles and peripherals from the biggest brands in the world. Located in an affluent area of the city, it features three Samsung WCG Gaming Zones which are equipped with Full HD 52" TVs, next generation sound systems, ergonomic seats and much more that will envy anyone.

"We are setting here a new concept of electronic entertainment. It will be a place where people get to know and purchase the latest in gaming and to enjoy the comforts of modern playing experience," said Kevin Baqai, Executive Director of Proximo Games in Brazil.

The company starts its operations in Curitiba for considering it a strategic city in Latin America to understand the clients. “The city is well recognized by the market for its demanding consumers and if a product is well accepted here then we have great chances to be successful across the region." says Baqai.

The potential of gaming market for Brazil is internationally recognized. According to Strategic Business Report, the gaming market will reach USD 91 billion worldwide by 2015. Being part of BRIC countries, Brazil is recognized for its enormous investment potential, demonstrating the betting of Proximo Games in Latin America. “As the regional governments combats piracy and gray market along with growth of middle class which appreciates specialty stores, Proximo games business model would be an ideal investment opportunity. “ declares Baqai.

It took Proximo Games several years of diligence, research, and investments in the region to open its first store in Brazil. Now the company brings to Curitiba the best of the international gaming industry at competitive prices, directly from manufacturers, eliminating middlemen and importers. Among the company's partners are names like Nintendo, Disney, Activision, Ubi Soft, Samsung and many others.

All this can be seen on opening store in Curitiba, on Tuesday, 22nd December at 11 a.m. The shop is located at Augusto Stelfeld Street, number 1516, on Bigorrilho district and is open daily from 10 a.m to 9 p.m.
